General questions
We support all Android Wear watches, including, but not limited to: LG G Watch (all editions), Moto 360, Samsung Gear Live, Asus Zen Watch.
We support every Android phone running Android 4.3 or later. Please note that privacy apps may interfere with Wear Messenger. We also advice to add Wear Messenger to your task manager exclusion list. Its service is required for the app to function correctly.
While it may be true we request a few permissions, they are all required for the app to work. We do not collect or share your data with anyone. Wear Messenger does not even have the permission to communicate with the internet.
User Interface
Notifications are disabled by default. You can enable them under Custom Notifications on your phone.
Keyboards are disabled by default. You can enable them under Embedded Keyboards on your phone. Here you can choose your keyboard of choice.
We support 5 different keyboards:
  • Embedded: A scrollable QWERTY-style keyboard with customizable buttons
  • Full screen: Same as above but full screen without scrolling
  • FlickKey: A keyboard letting you type with flicks instead of taps
  • Keypad: A T9-style keyboard supporting English, Italian, French and Spanish.
  • FlickPad: A combination of the two above.
Keypad extra actions are initiated via gestures:
  • From left to right: space
  • From right to left: back
  • From top to bottom: clear
  • From bottom to top: change language
You can also switch to manual mode pressing #.
From the first conversation, scroll up to see the phone keypad. Here you can call or text an arbitrary number. Scroll right to get the contact list.
Those are MMS, not SMS. Wear Messenger does not support MMS as of now.
We do not support delivery reports as of now.
You actually have two choices:
  • On the phone, under the Keypad section you can touch add or remove and specify your word here
  • On the watch, you can type your word on the keypad in manual mode (touch # until you see mm) then touch twice the word you just typed
Embedded and Full screen keyboards lets you set custom layouts. This means you can add your own buttons, including non-latin characters. To do so, first select one of those keyboards, then touch Keyboard rows. Each character you put here will appear as a button on the watch.
There are multiple reasons that could cause this. Please try one of this solutions:
  • Connection is broken: restart both your devices
  • Your SMS database is corrupted: delete all your SMS messages
  • You have a third party app blocking access to the SMS database
  • Google Play Services are stuck: open app settings on your phone and clear Google Play Services and Android Wear app data. Now, factory reset your watch and pair it again.
Go back on the Play Store. You will find here a Refund button.
Just swipe from left to right as you would usually do, but on the top of the screen. (over the text area)
Please pay attention at where you put your drag points if you use apps like Wear Mini Launcher, which could interfere with Wear Messenger's buttons.
There are multiple reasons why this might happen. Probably your antivirus is set to warn you if an app is requesting permissions that could led to charges on your phone bill. Please note that we request the permission to send SMS messages and make phone calls only to correctly handle the requests made by the user. We already contacted most antivirus brands to get this fixed. If you have this issue, please contact me so I can let them know Wear Messenger is safe.
Please note we only list numbers categorized as Mobile phone in the phone book. To get your contact listed on the watch, please change the number category to that one or add a copy of the same number.
This is normal. Numbers are displayed when there isn't a word into the dictionary matching the current combination. This behaviour is required to let you check if you pressed the right button.
Wear Messenger can interact with other apps only using the Xposed Framework, which in turn requires you to be rooted. If you are not rooted, or you don't want to, you may look into Quick for Wear which can provide similar functionalities without root.
Contact us so we can discuss about this.
As of now we cannot afford professional translators. If you are interested in translating this app to your language we would gladly accept your help. Contact us to work together!
